The Gann November 2014

After making this recording I was surprised by the things I didn't hear while I was waiting, in fact I was busy digging bait for a fishing trip so little wonder some things escaped me, in particular, the Choughs, I have never seen or heard Choughs at the Gann before, they are not far away of course, being just over the hill at Dale airfield, but for me it was a first.
I also found it interesting to note how other everyday sounds of people seem to fit right in and not sound out of place or jarring, distant chatter, the odd dog barking, even a boy racer at one point, determined to require new tyres sooner rather than later.
This is perhaps not the most atmospheric of recordings considering the location, but it is worth noting that the recorder was only about 100 yards onto the flat, the Great Black Back flock and Wigeon were right down on the low tide mark some 700 or 800 yards away, so it is quite impressive that the recorder picked them up so well. On the plus side this was a still day, so there is very little wind noise.
